The skyrocketing popularity and preference of Texas Holdem Poker is something that cannot be left ignored. If you’re also interested in Texas Holdem Poker but are a newbie and don’t have much knowledge about it, you’re then at right place! In this article, I’ll let you know some of the key terminologies that you should understand before getting started with the Texas Holdem Poker. In order to understand what actually the Texas Holdem Poker is, one should first understand what it consists of. Well, it consists of the following:
- The Blind,
- The Hold Card,
- The Flop,
- The Hole Card,
- The River and
- The Showdown.
The Cards are dealt by the dealers and they are not allowed to participate in the game of Holdem Poker and this is why a marker is always assigned to designate the dealer throughout the game. Well, the designated dealer is actually an individual who stands on the very right side of the original dealer and moves clockwise after every hand.
The blind includes the small and the big blind. The least amount of money set for the game refers to the big blind and the either half or one third of the big blind is called the small blind. Moreover, the cards that are dealt downwards to every player are called the Hole Cards. The small blind player tends to receive the first card. When it comes to the Flop Cards, they are the 3 cards that are dealt in the midst of the poker table face up. Well, these cards are considered as community cards and once the dealer is done with the dealing of these cards betting starts using half of the table minimum.
The Turn is the 4th card that is death face upwards in the center of the poker table. After this card is dealt the table minimum is used throughout the betting. Furthermore, the 5th and final card is The River. This card is also dealt face upwards and the betting takes place using the table minimum. Last but not least is The Showdown. This is where the cards are analyzed properly and focusing the card combinations the lucky winner is finally determined. Sometimes the community cards tend to make the best hands in the game of Texas Holdem Poker. If this takes place the pot is always split amongst the active players out there.
